scripted scammer posed as AMEX fraud service agent (Scam call) reported by Jim
Phone number on caller id matches AmEx, called my wife's phone# but stated it was my card, she knows my name. Indian ascent is strong but still be able to understand without much issue. Told me my card was declined 10 minutes ago from an online purchase, gunamerica.com, for almost 10k. I checked my app, no such transaction existed, got a bit suspicious. I asked her to tell me why they called my wife instead, and they dont know my phone number, she does not tell me what number to call back "sir, my number is 1-800-the number on the back of your card', I was what? you dont know what number you called from? I asked more details about me they guessed a few, and I try to get her phone number and she got frighten and hung up. I try to call back, this number seemed to be a legit AMEX number. I hung up and then called American Express number on back of my card. the customer service told me it's possible they masked their number and make the call appear from a legit American express number. It's like the DNS method scam with internet addresses. Next time be careful if someone call you and sounded professional but refuse to give you any details of yourself, and on an Indian accent. Must call the number on back of your card to see if they are legit.

There is a voicemail but silent, I don't have a AMEX card. (Scam call) reported by 68.12.1.xxx
Unwanted call, appeared to be from AMEX but I don't have any AMEX account. The voicemail is dead silent.
