Impersonated Am Ex fraud department. Tried to get card info. (Scam call) reported by Louise
The person indicated they were from Am Ex fraud department. Said there were two suspicious charges from a city outside my zip code. Asked if I made them. I said no. Then they said they would need to cancel my card, but in order to do so I needed to give them the last 5 digits. I said no. Then they asked me for last 4 digits of SSN. I said no. I said send me a email. They refused. Then they threatened to allow the fraudulent charges. That's when I hung up. I then called Am Ex and they do not have any fraud alerts on my card and they did not call me. So it was definitely a SCAMMER.

Same thing happened to me, two declined charges out of state, and they said a replacement card would be sent. They knew the last numbers of one of my AmEx cards, that's how they were able to get me. It's a phishing attempt. They need the last 4 of your SSN and the 3 digit number on the back of the card. With that information it's possible they could change your account's mailing address and have a replacement card sent to them. Knowing my name and phone number, it's likely they already had my address from public databases, probably my birthdate too. I was suspicious enough to call AmEx right afterwards and they were not aware of those out of state declined charges, so the call was likely NOT from AmEx, so I had an actual replacement card sent to ME. Then I locked all my credit reports.
There really is no way to know whether it's AmEx calling or not because any phone number can be spoofed, so if you get any calls like this in the future from any creditor or bank, do not give out any information and simply call them back yourself. Generally speaking, phone calls are dead technology and need to be replaced.
