I received a call from 1 800 535 3139 claiming to be a representative from the USAA Fraud Department. They said there was fraudulent activity on my account and asked me to very the transactions which I did not. They then asked me to verify my online ID at which point I ended the call and called USAA directly and the representative told me there was never any fraudulent activity on my account.

First they sent a text stating fraudulent activity asking if I made the purchase from apple.com for $532.20. Then called me telling me this plus saying I had more pending charges. I told the lady I didn’t see it in my account. She said that’s because it wasn’t processed through yet. (****) Then she gave me my address and was sending me a new card. Hung up and called USAA. They said it was a phishing attempt. Don’t give your info out over the phone.

Called twice this number missed call, and again spoofing real USAA main number when I answered, saying had fraud charge for walmart $500 in another state, need to cancel card, gave me part of credit card number (easy to do as first 8 digits are bank id) and my zip and name. USAA doesn't just cancel cards for a fraud charge, and the dude did not sound professional at all. And the text before that was not like the usual USAA text. ****. Don't believe the posts that say it was from USAA on here - it was NOT. It's total phishing.

Received a text message from a different number asking if a $700 Walmart charge was me. I didn’t respond. This number called and identified as USAA fraud detection. I asked for a contact number because the call showed up as potential spam. He asked “you sure?” I told him I would call USAA myself and he hung up immediately. USAA confirmed that there was no fraud attempt on my account

I got the exact same thing this morning! Same here - walmart for $500 and I did same - hung up and called USAA and nope! no fraud attempt. This guy knew my name and part of card number and partial address though.

They call me posting as USAA fraud department. they said that someone was trying to make a $2000 purchase, They asked me to confirm my zip code but actually told me my zip. I asked to what card and when they start to tell me the number I notice that the number was not my card number. so I hanged up the call.

First they called me 5 times back to back said I had a fraudulent transaction from united airlines. The call dropped and he actually called me from the USAA 1800 number I gave them my member number they requested a new card and had it sent to their address thank God usaa texts you and asks if you authorized a replacement card. I called usaa because of this page it was helpful. Just hang up and call USAA AND VERIFY. They are getting clever.

They gather some of your researchable personal info from online and attempt to trick you into giving them your pin and text codes. Called the actual USAA and they quickly confirmed it's a common scam. USAA will never call you from a 1800 number nor will they call you and ask for a text code.

Valid USAA Fraud Alert number. I stopped this call mid-call and called USAA to confirm the number and they said it was a Fraud Alert number for them. Then they proceeded to continue the actions I had started with this number and issued me a new card and removed fraudulent charges.
