"Mrs. Lincoln," in a very heavy Latina accent, wanted to help me with my credit cards. I listened knowing she was a con artist. I asked where she was calling from. She said for "security reasons" she couldn't tell me. I asked her if she spoke Spanish, she said yes, and then began speaking Spanish. I told her I loved El Salvador even more than Mexico, that it was much greener. She told me that I hadn't seen much of Mexico then as it was very green in many places. Then she said she needed my Social Security Number to be able to help me get rid of all my credit card bills. I gave her a fake one. She said, in Spanish, "It doesn't match what we have on record for this number. Let's try under your address and birthdate." I asked her why she thought anybody would that kind of information to an off shore con artist. She screamed in Spanish, "Because you are stupid!" 15 minutes later, Señora Lincoln called again. When she realized she was talking to me again, she hung up.
