Pretended to be with Wells Fargo. Had a lot of information. (Scam call) reported by Jim C.
Caller posed as Wells Fargo Employee, and cited a lot of information about me and my wife (names,ssn, etc.), and info about a credit card (last 4, first 4), expiration date and more. Very believable guy, except that the card he had info about was cancelled and replaced with a new number weeks ago. lol He claimed someone in another state attempted to make a suspicious charge and wanted our permission to decline the charge and cancel the card, asking me for even more information (when he already had tons of info). This is the second time in the past couple of months we've received similar scam calls. The previous caller had an American accent. This time, the caller had an Indian accent. Be careful, they're getting better at stealing your money.

Not actually Wells Fargo. Called real Wells Fargo fraud line. Was informed Wells Fargo will never send a text with a link in it to it's customers.

yes.. they will ask SSN , date of birth, home address ... etc... too much info.. also.. i asked a friend with different dispute department (not credit card dispute dept).. they said they won't ask date of birth.. so.. its tricky when they ask you DOB.

Returned a missed call from them, they asked for my SS#, date of birth, address, mother's maiden name, WF credit card #...... THEN TOLD ME THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ANYONE CALLING ME FROM WF!!!! Just uncalled for & totally unacceptable. :(

Received a call from 1-800-642-47xx. A person with an Indian accent asked for me by name, and asked if I had started using my new credit card. I don't have a new credit card, and was recently a victim of a scam, so I hung up. I'm still waiting for a determination of my claim from the Wells Fargo Fraud Dept. I was charged a cash advance fee related to a transfer from my credit card, which supposedly will be canceled when my claim is resolved.

A few people with Indian accents have called my husband (to the point of harassment) to "claim" someone was using his card. They asked too many questions and had very Americanized names (for example: Tom Johnson)
To be safe I would hang up and report it to Wells Fargo.
