Microsoft doesn't do unsolicited calls. (Scam call) reported by


A guy with a HEAVY accent called me out of the blue to tell me that my email was hacked by someone in Mexico. He claimed to be from Microsoft. The email, he said isn't even associated with any Microsoft account. Furthermore, my cell phone and computer, BOTH have anti-virus software, and two-step verification. I went ahead and set up a time for him to call me back, but I never answered. A reminder to all: Microsoft, WILL NOT call you out of the blue unless you requested a call back on their site. Plus, this scam has been around since 2009 and people have actually had their bank accounts emptied, because they allowed remote access from someone, that they presumed was from a trusted company. I haven't received a call since from them, nor have I received an email from Microsoft, telling me, that this was indeed a scam.
