Shows up as "unknown" on caller ID. Verizon silenced the ringer on the call and messaged me. Caller did not leave a message.

I answered the call to see what route the scammer was going to take with me. The caller told me that my firewall settings were incorrect and allowed foreign computers to connect to my device. Had me run a netstat in command prompt to "show" me all these foreign addresses connected to my device. After telling them that I had dozens of established connections they told me to log into my Gateway and then offered me a fake Comcast Customer Support URL so that IT could connect to my computer and fix the problem.

He said I had a security breach. Wanted me to use my laptop and he would direct me what to do to correct the problem. I asked how do I know you are from Xfinity. He said I’ll text you. No text came thru. He asked if the phone I was on was a mobile. I said no. He asked then what is your mobile number? I said you tell me. He recited a number I had stopped over 20 yrs ago. I told him that and I told him he was a fraud. He hung up. I reported this to Xfinity.

I got a call from supposedly Xfinity stating that my modem firewall was breached by two people abroad. They knew my name already. The person had an Indian accent and wanted me to perform certain actions on my computer. I said I was busy and that my modem was fine. He hung up on me. The call showed up on my screen as xFinity, so be careful out there.

This number keeps calling me, but does not leave a message. If it is so important, leave me a message! I am pretty sure that these are telemarketers, scammers, or someone else. Why would they keep calling but not leave a message. Suspicious.

If the call is so important xfinity would have left a message. I started receiving calls after my last communication with Comcast using their text feature. Out of an abundance of caution, I am not answering because there is no email or record of a call when i log into my Xfinity account!
