Posing as an Apple Representative (Scam call) reported by


I received a call from a ‘Scam Likely’. I answered the call and was greeted with an automated voice message saying that my Apple account was being looked into for suspicious activity and “click 1 to be connected with a representative”. I was then connected with a human (Indian) who asked questions that had to do with my email account rather than my phone itself. I knew it was a scam from the start, but I played along to anger them. I told them that I could see what devices were connected to my phone and that nothing seemed out of the ordinary. He then proceeded to ask who was downloading illegal content in New York, I said that I could not tell him (confidential reasons, duh). But really, there’s no one in New York who has my account information. I then told him that everything was fine in my end and I have multiple security measures that I take when it comes to my personal information so I proceeded to ask for a manager and he kept stalling, told me “You should know things before you speak to the manager”, he demanded and was really adamant that I tell him who was downloading the content. I proceeded to ask for the manger again, he rambled some more, and I asked for the manger again and he said “I can assume that you’ll be fine with your account being blocked because you won’t cooperate”, and I said “I don’t mind, let me speak to your manager”... and then he proceeded to say that because I wasn’t cooperating I should have a good day. And he hung up.
