I asked the person on the other line how I could confirm that they are legit and the mans response was "stick your finger in it" I said "what" - to which he responded "go **** yourself." So even though the number that dialed me is a legitimate SS office number, its a scam.

SCAM SOME HOW USING LEGIT PHONE NUMBER (Scam call) reported by


I RECEIVED A CALL FROM 800-772-1213 ON MY CELL. IT USES THE EXACT SAME NUMBER LISTED ON THE SOCIAL SECURITY WEB SITE. THE AUTO CALL STATED ... MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER WOULD BE BLOCKED. I CALLED THE SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE DIRECTLY FROM MY WORK PHONE AFTER RECEIVING THE CALL. I LEFT A CALL BACK NUMBER AND AN HOUR LATER SOMEONE FROM THE ACTUAL SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICE CALLED. I EXPLAINED THE CALL I RECEIVED AND SHE SAID IT'S A SCAM. THAT SOCIAL SECURITY WILL NEVER CALL.
