Computer security/repair services (Unsolicited call) reported by

Male caller said there was a problem with my computer. I asked him to identify himself, but he wouldn't. He said he had something to do with Microsoft (which I didn't believe). I hung up on him and reported this phone call to the 'do not call' registry.

SCAM (Other) reported by

Same story as people have mentioned. Call from a person with a strong Indian accent. Claim they are third party microsoft security team or whatever. They say someone is trying to hack my computer. I was suspecious right from the start. So I asked them where they were calling from. They said their company is called Tech Support 365, LLC (very original by the way). I did a quick google search and didn't find much other than a poorly made LinkedIn page. She kept saying that there was a virus/someone trying to hack me. She said that I can trust her, and the way to prove it was for me to open my PC command line and entering ASSOC. She said she will prove me to that she is legit by verifying my computer license ID that would pop up from entering that ASSOC line (which I did not enter at all). I kept asking her how she got my number, but she was very vague about it, not giving any clear answer. I asked her which operating system is affected because we have multiple computers at home (Mac, windows 10, windows 7). She said windows 10 (lucky guess for her). I started googling the ASSOC command line she kept asking me to type in, and I saw all the threads about scams that came up. I told her that I was going to give her any info or type anything on my PC until I knew who she was. She got frustrated and said if I want to let my computer get hacked then it's my choice, she's not going to waste anymore time with me. She then hung up on me. I looked up her number afterwards and came to this page. Something we should all know is that Microsoft or Apple would NEVER call us up if our computers were being hacked, especially not some "third party" companies that they may have hired to do so. THESE SCUMS SHOULD ROT IN HELL.

they called 3 times in 2 minutes (Scam call) reported by

They called, I answered and knew right away it was one of those scam calls. I hung up and he immediately called back. He had an Indian accent and a Western name. I haven't heard any say this before, so it might be something to look out for - when I said I knew it was a scam to get money out of me, he said I wasn't going to pay him any money, and that even though Microsoft does not call customers directly they were using a third party company to contact people about this specific virus. So be careful if they say something to that effect too. The stupid part is that I literally went to a Microsoft store yesterday and talked with someone about my computer, but I never took my computer in nor did I leave my name or phone number.

Scam call reported by

Saying you have a virus on your computer is the premise of the call.  The people that make these type calls, supposedly from Microsoft (or others) are scammers that work for large companies in India. They either want to sell you a non-existant virus removal program &/or steal your personal & financial information.  You can search Youtube for "Microsoft scammer" to hear how they work  If you let them on to your computer & you watched them show you problems on your computer, then they may have left you with a virus  Now if you didn't give them remote access to your computer, you're probably safe from them, but it's still easy to get malware, even from visiting websites where they've been installed without the website owner's knowledge. i copied this from 800 notes comments

Windows Security (Scam call) reported by

They said problems with my computer showing attempts to access by unauthorized 3rd party. I asked how they knew. They said it was via my security ID. I asked for the security ID number and then told them it was the 4th call in the last few weeks, each with a different security ID number - and hung up.
