Called from other number and gave me this one to verify his employment status. Both men had Indian accents and say that they work for MFN, and that my email address had been hacked and not to purchase anything online. I first thought that he said he worked for Amazon, so I stayed on the line. He tried to have me press the Windows key on my keyboard, and type 'R'. That's where I stopped him and asked for verification of his employment. He gave me this number. I called and spoke to an Indian man who asked how he can assist me. Seemed unprofessional, so I hung up. Definitely seems like a scam.

Told me my hotmail email was hacked and that I need to get on a desktop and he would walk me through the unhacking process. I told them I couldn't make it to a computer at the moment and he left me his information. He has a heavy Indian accent and said his name was Edwin Peterson with the number 1 800)935-0687 ext. 105

Confirmed with AOL this was a phishing scam (Scam call) reported by


Representative called my cell phone number advising they were with AOL and my email has been hacked. That I needed to logon to my account from a PC or laptop and he would guide me through the steps to Secure my account. Since I was driving I suggested that I call him back. Instead I contacted AOL who advised the call was not from AOL. This is a new type of phishing.
