If you receive a call from this number either accidentally or on purpose expect to have a round the clock deluge of calls from telemarketers and telescammers. I have my phone set to contacts only so hadn't had a single call from those in Weeks. My step-son called from jail and now it's round the clock scam callers. They should be put out of business for selling phone numbers

I didn’t pick up when they called because I thought it was a scammer, and then I got a text saying “Hi I’m _____ and I’m incarcerated…” and it said some stuff about accepting collect calls from the number or something. It also said they were in my county detention center. They called me again a few days later, and I again didn’t pick up. I got curious, and tried to see if I could look up who was in my county jail somehow, and I could. (I had deleted the text since I thought it was scam, but I remembered the first name) once I skimmed through a few people, I found the person who was apparently trying to call me. He was in custody for first degree murder, but I have no clue who the guy is, so maybe he thought my number was someone else’s, but I do not think the number is fake.

This person (Amber Langlinais) TRIED to call (was automatically declined via SIA) from this number which showed as INMATE PHONE SERVICE. Then sent a text message stating 'HI I'm Amber Langlinais and I'm incarcerated...' - I was able to see that much of the TM from my notifications pull-down option without opening the text message. I immediately reported it as spammer & the message was automatically deleted. GOOGLE phone number search shows it belongs to NCIC Inmate Communications, 607 E Whaley St, Longview, TX 75601 open 24-hrs for collect call services.

I also got a simultaneous text from this number. The person's name "Lan Tran" is completely unknown to me, as is wherever Ascension Parish is supposed to be. The gall of some people is simply offensive.
