The posts on this board saying this call was legitimately from TD bank are probably from the scammers themselves. This is a complete and total scam. They claim to be loss prevention and walk through bogus charges and then ask for your credit card information step by step for security purposes. **** -- they sound pretty official and are pretty good at it. DO NOT FALL FOR IT! Call TD themselves through the app if you're unsure -- TD WILL NEVER CALL YOU LIKE THIS!!! For bogus charges, TD will text you or robocall you, and you will be asked to confirm or deny charges with a yes/no. You will never be asked for information.

I listened to the voice message left and then called the customer services number on the back of my credit card. The agent confirmed that 18009838472 is TD Credit Card Services and transferred my call. No issues.

This number started calling me this morning at 8:30 & has continued until minutes ago when I blocked the caller. This is a scam trying to access accounts. Hang up, do not press 1. It is a recording claiming to prevent a fraudulent online charge to your account. Hang up, do it respond in any way.

They claimed to be TD fraud department. They can change their caller ID to appear legitimate, they try calling me frequently with this scam but they usually use the TD Easy Line phone number. First time they used this number so I answered but hung up as soon as they said they are the td fraud department. TD DOES NOT CALL YOU IF THERE IS SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY ON YOUR ACCOUNT. THEY TEXT YOU TELLING YOU TO CALL THEM. If you receive a call from TD just hang up and call TD yourself.

Agreed! Initially received a call from 1-959-300-0673 (Connecticut). They said there were from Visa Fraud Department, when I asked what bank they were calling from they said Royal Bank, and asked me why I was calling. I said you called me! And they said "can I just confirm your first and last name"? I said why don't you have that, you called me? They said they need to validate my information for security purposes. I said, why don't you give me your number and I'll call you back? They provided this number 1-800-983-8472. I didn't call them...I called the number on the back of my Visa card instead. No fraudulent charges were reported on my card. Do not give them your name, or credit card numbers!

The person told me there was suspicious activity on my Visa and wanted to verify my info. They asked me for my card number which I refused and told them I would call TD Visa to validate. When I called TD Visa, they transferred me to the fraud department who confirmed it was a scam call. Nothing on my record regarding suspicious activity at all.
