They called on behalf of a relative who has a Life Alert device and pressed the panic button. We are listed as a contact. They left a message so I found out it was legit after listening to the voice mail.

I received a call from this number, which I missed (inadvertently). Later, when I saw I had missed a call & saw the number, I did not recognize it & thought it was a potential spam call. I did notice they left a message, however, so I checked the message, more for entertainment value than anything else. I was surprised to learn that not only was this a legitimate company, but that my mother's LifeProtect device had been triggered & they were not able to reach anyone so far yet. By the time I called back, they had already dispatched paramedics to her home (since they couldn't reach any of us by phone). When I did call back, they were able to provide me an exact update of the current situation. The number came up as "potential spam" for me as well, but I am glad I decided to listen to their voicemail!
