he basically said I'll write check blah blah blah and then once I kept asking questions he barely answered them. He ignored my no check just cash and kept asking info for check. And I asked how much should I excpect to give movers and he didn't have a legit answer.

I track numbers that contact me about Craigslist sales. This guy has tried before. Offers a check for payment after asking best price, standard out of state money scam...and for a 300lb plus wood stove. Gotta love the shipping logistics. Last time told him to pack sand. Guess he didn't get the hint. Today told him to pound sand. =0)

This number contacted us regarding exercise equipment we listed for sale on craigslist and offered to send us a check that included money for movers. He said to deduct our pay and then give the rest to the movers when they pick up. I told him cash or banker's check. He never responded back. SCAM!!!!!

we listed for sale on Craig's List. We were supposed to keep all of the money except what we were supposed to pay the movers when they came to pick it up. I knew instantly that it was a scam, just like the 12 other calls that we got just like it for the same ad.

I was contacted by this number via text with the second-oldest trick in the book, in which a scammer contacts you about an ad you have placed, or something you are selling, and they arrange to send you a Cashier check for MORE THAN the amount they are paying you. You are to deposit the check, cash out all the money, and give the remainder to their delivery person, who will come to collect the item and their pay. The check bounces, of course, and the now have your money, which you cashed out, plus a possible fee for a bounced check levied by the bank. I didn't fall for the scam, as I'm familiar with it- friends have been taken in. Don't let it happen to you.
