they called saying they could save me money on my car insurance and asked my zip code and name and car insurance and then they said "are you ready for the quote" and i said I don't know? and then they hung up

A lady called and said she was from my insurance carrier. I was confused and asked her if she was from my insurance company specifically. She said no, and that she was a carrier for multiple companies. Then she started trying to get information out of me and it wasn't making much sense. When she realized I wasn't going to just give her my address if I didn't know what was going on she hung up on me.

Insurance telemarketer pretending to be insurance carrier rep (Scam call) reported by


Woman called from this number claiming to be a rep from our insurance carrier and saying it was in regards to our insurance payment. When told simply that the company she rattled off was not our carrier (didn't tell who) she then changed the conversation to attempt to get 'quote information' to 'offer a better insurance policy quote based on our information'. Hung up on her.
