Offered stay in Hilton Head, hung up on me. (Scam call) reported by

Talked to "Nicole". She offered a free vacation in Hilton Head, started off pleasant, so I wanted to make sure I was also polite. When she started asking questions ("are you married/do you live with your significant other") I realized what it was, and I politely said that I was not interested in a vacation at the time and that she could give the vacation to someone else. She hung up on me while I was apologizing about not taking the free vacation.

Free Hotel Stay Offer. Scam. (Telemarketer) reported by

There was a free-hotel-stay offer when I purchased tickets from Ticketmaster two weeks ago. I hit "yes," not expecting anything to come of it. This number has called 4 times since then. The guy was very friendly and laughed a lot on the call, probably to make me comfortable talking to him. He offered the same as Ticketmaster said: a 3 day stay at Hilton Head in SC. He kept talking of packages I could get, and not specifying. He wanted to know how much money I make in a year, where I lived so he could calculate my drive time, my parents' anniversary, and how old my sibling is. He tried to convince me to "surprise your parents for their anniversary!" If I wanted the deal, I would have to put down the $99 deposit over the phone at this moment with him. He said, "You'll get your money back at the end of your stay!" I told him it seemed too good to be true. He insisted, "Ticketmaster is a serious business! You think they would let us advertise on their site if we weren't legit?" I still turned him down, and he let me go pretty easily. He was so nice to talk to; I feel stupid for listening. haha.

Same thing happened.

Laura

I wonder if the three night stay is legit. Says it's only $99.

Danielle

You have to listen to a 90-min presentation. They are trying to seek you a time share! But the stay is legit!
