Said they had sent out 3 letters stating the I have an IRS debt which is complete BS. I paid my debt with them when they garnished my wages. I received a letter from IRS that said I have resolved all payments. So ya, please tell me I still have a tax debt when I dont!!

This company is Performant Recovery Services Inc., and they are a debt collection agency contracting out by the IRS. Anu time they call, an agent leaves a message so I call back because I know I have a debt with them.

They call at least 3-4 times a week. As soon as they say they are calling on a recorded line I hang up. Supposedly they are from the IRS collection department.

Long pause before anyone said hello. Wasn't clear never said why she was calling. Seemed like she thought because she said IRS I was suppose to stay on the phone. When you call the number back it's automated and ask for an agents number but there is no way to talk to a receptionist and this number has no address attached to it only a P.O box.

So called IRS third party (Debt collector) reported by


Called saying they were a 3rd party collector for IRS. When I asked for info she refused to give me any. I assured her I didn't owe bc I got a return last year. So how can I owe now. She continued to ask for info from me. Like if my number was cell or landline. And so on. I refused to release any information and informed to contact HR Block where I get my taxes done every year with fraud protection. She continued to hound me for info... so I hung up on her. I would definitely be cautious. A Fraud would my best guess.
