Answered the call when I received it and was immediately skeptical. Hung up and called back and was surprised to see it know exactly who i was. Hung up and immediately called my bank(Citizens) directly and was told it was a legit call to inform me they were sending me out a new card as my current one was on a possible compromised list but no fraud activity had been detected yet.

This was really Citibank. They called twice, so I checked my account. A fraudulent charge had been attempted, and a five question dispute process fixed it. Shame on Citi, though, for not using an easily verified phone number. I will be bugging their customer service about this.

Called me three times today (I didn't answer since number was unknown); left an automated message on third call stating who was calling and to call back regarding my bank card. I did call back and through an automated system was told I would be getting a new card due to potential security compromise, though no fraudulent activity had been detected.

This number gave me a call several times claiming it is from Citizen's Bank and there is a possibility of fraud activity. I gave my bank a call and they said someone hacked into the bank so they sent out a call, email, and letter warning that the cards could be compromised. Bank teller informed me that if it asks for a detailed personal information like all digits of social security and/or 16-digit card number, it is a scam, if it only asks for last four digits of SSN, house address, or account number, it is real. This call is legit. It only confirmed my house address and my name. Automated message said my card could be compromised, yet no fraudulent activity has been detected so they will send me a new card and my card will be active until I activate my new card upon retrieval.

Funny...um... Joe. If it is a legit number then why is Citizen's bank saying that it is not? Why are numerous people other than myself stating the exact same thing. Why do they require you to call them back to report the fraud. Why are none of my other fraud alerts saying anything? Why am I looking directly at the fraud department phone number for citizens bank and seeing nothing in common with them? Huh, Joe?

This number(84493505xx) is unknown by Citizens bank as it called me today and I then called Citizens fraud center who said this is NOT thier number and they also reported this 8449350556 number which does NOT belong to Citizens. I believe the comments above are also scammers.
