asked to speak to account holder (named) purported to be with Dish SErvices - coincidentally we have DishTV - would never state exactly what was wanted and when asked for the number we can call back - this is the number given. Before we were even able to call it back, THEY called us back with a different person on the line.

They offer to lower your DirectTV bill. They already had my full name and my address and phone number and she wanted my DirectTV account number and even my 4 digit pin number and my full social security number and my date of birth and my mother's maiden name and my bank's name and my bank's routing number and my checking account number and she said she would only charge me a one time $75.00 fee for a better DirectTV package.

I got the call from my voicemail. An operator said to hold for the next available agent. A live person came on about 15 seconds later. She said,"Hello," twice and then hung up. The background noise was of other people talking like in a call center.

Although the call seemed like a random scammer at first, the behavior of the caller and word choice gave me the perception it was more of a harassment call. Like one of those prank services that someone registers your number with, and then you get a huge volume of calls with hang ups from non-working numbers. Scam callers will try to get something out of you. These guys don't. The calls are just harassing or pranking the target...likely also recording your response. Be careful what you say, but try to tease some information out of these ****, and you will likely find they make no attempt to get your info. If not, then I would think more about who put your number on their list.

Sounded like a call center in the background. The guy mumbled something about direct TV and then just hung up on me. I called back to see where the call was from and this lady answered but didn't give a company name.
