Aggressive/aggravating collector for medical debt (Debt collector) reported by


This debt collector calls my phone multiple times a week, if not daily in hot pursuit trying to collect a medical debt from a member of my family who is dealing with a serious critical illness who has no means to pay the money they are after & far bigger issues in their life to deal with right now than medical debts they can't afford to pay at this point & time. I realize medical care isn't free, but it aint cheap either nor can it be helped when much needed medical care cost more than insurance will pay or more than a body can afford to pay. I don't understand why/how medical debt can be legally held against a person & aggressively sought after by insensitive,rude & uncaring collectors the same way all other debts like car loans,credit cards, material item purchases on credit, reckless spending above one's means, ect. I realize not all purchases on credit are done irresponsibly, and tragedies happen to prevent ability to repay debts as promised, but most of these debts are optional at some point, not required to sustain one's life or health. When a person creates medical debts, its almost always not something they've got a choice to refuse...in moat cases medical debts are created by people in need of medical care, something noone should ever be denied when its needed. The medical industry is a very cut throat profit driven business that will save a physical life then completely destroy the joy & quality of that same life by financially ruining the person to profit from the care needed to restore their health or literally save their life. What sense does that make? Why should a person's perfect credit score plummet when they weren't deliberately financially irresponsible? Its major rant subject for me, I hate insensitive deaf bill collectors who don't know when its time to back off regardless of reason for debt, but the lowest of them all are the ones who harass sick people even on death beds then go after their families after a person dies demanding payment
