I was called by this number to collect a debt that was paid 2 years ago. No prior notice of an outstanding balance until now because they said my debt went to collections. If it went to collections why is Greenville Health calling me and not the collector? Why did I not receive a notice of this outstanding balance? They said they would send the itemized bill in the mail per my request but I know I paid my bills in MyChart when I received them. Side not: This is probably a legit call but their is a huge lack of communication in the billing department. I’ll know more when I receive their “bill” in the mail.

I called our insurance carrier and they said no they never did and never sent out a second summary.

It showed up on my phone as a potential scam, however it was the billing department of the hospital system. Had I ignored it, I would have been unaware of a bill that was not covered and it would have eventually negatively affected my credit. I called the number back after looking it up online and deciding that it was probably legitimate. It came over my cell phone and Verizon labeled it as potential scam. I appreciate the effort, but when a legitimate number calls and is reported as a scam and the fake AT&T people call every day despite my asking them not to, it seems like no progress is being made.
