Fake BofA Fraud Protection (Scam call) reported by NotAnIdiot
Texted me with another number claiming to be BofA fraud protection asking if I made a Zelle transfer. I responded "NO." Received a call from this number. Caller had accent, paused before identifying what company they worked for (checking which scam they hooked me with) before saying BofA fraud service. Asked me if I had said "NO" to which I hesitantly a said "YES" in a strained weird voice not like my own. They hung up immediately. Will either try to use my BS "YES" to scam my identity or got the feeling I was on to their scheme. Either way, they are scummy and illegitimate scammers.

The phone call comes from (866) 266-0212. The following voicemail messages was left instructing you to call them back on a different number that has been linked to scams. We do not have a Bank of America Account. Hello, this message is for Mi***** ********. My name is Erica with Bank of America's fraud department calling in regards to a financial request that we received in your name. Please return our call at (888) 230-6262. We are available Monday thru Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 2pm. Please use the following reference number when returning our call. 4160055637. Thank you and have a great rest of your day.
