SCAM SCAM SCAM A real person called me and said they were from BoA. They said someone opened an account in my name in CA, and they had my license, DL, and SSN. They also texted me and said they would send me a link to verify my information... at that point, I was weirded out so I hung up and called BoA directly. The number called me back 3x as I was calling the BoA# from the website. I spoke with a BoA Fraud Specialist and she confirmed no accounts were created under my SSN.

Please pay attention. These Green "positives" claiming they are Bank of America are being posted by the SCAMMERS. They will tell you someone tried to use your Zelle and in order to protect your account you will need to "reverse" the charge by sending money to another bank. They will tell you the person sending you texts is a rep from another bank "assisting" in the fraud protection. NO BANK DOES THIS.

Thank you! Your comment might have saved me from getting scammed. They tried the same thing with me. A Zelle transfer. Started with a text message saying it was from Bank of America and to reply Yes or No to these suspicious charges. I then got a call saying it was from Bank of America prompting me on how to do the Zelle transfer (involved sharing a code which was texted to me from Chase bank). Luckily I backed out when googling this number.

I never do business with my mobile number. Received a text through mobile number,to confirm a Zelle transfer. How they knew the amount and who it went to is amazing. Asked me personal info, operator stated could not help, I disconnected. Felt like a scammer, if it was BofA they need serious help in their security dept.

This is a scam. Called legit BofA number (800)432-1000 after receiving a text from this number and confirmed that it is a scam. If you get a text saying to call, call their public number instead and have them transfer you that way. If you did call and passed ID info, then begin freezing your credit right NOW!

SCAM and I,m not a troll. They tried to get into my Boa Zelle through my wife's PayPal account. Boa fraud dept told me this number is not associated in any way with their bank. Boa is protecting my account by keeping dishonest people out of a working mans pocket.

Scammer is doing whats called 'spoofing' a legit phone number then pretending to be Bank of America. I called the number back and found this out by talking to a rep from the bank that this number belongs to 'Crystal Lake Bank' in Illionois. 'Spoofing' is the act of making the number you are calling from look like a different phone number. The rep said there is an app that lets people do this.

I received a call from this number and a voicemail saying it was Bank of America's online Fraud Team. Advised they had locked all my accounts. As someone who worked for BOA in the past I found it strange that the ID didnt show their 1-800-432-1000 #. I called the number back and it was a recording for "clear lake bank and trust" NOT Bank of America. I called Bank of America who confirmed this was not them and that my account was fine.

These * pretend to be Bank of America....they are not the Fraud Department....PLEASE don't engage. They will try to get you to transfer money from Zelle or Venmo telling your they are "Reversals" to protect your account from someone who just tried to get into your account. They are scammers. You will never get your money back if you let them have access to your Zelle or Venmo because they are untraceable with no fraud protection.
