Legit caller, doesn't leave a message but they are legit. Asking to verify date of birth isn't out of the ordinary. If you don't answer and/or pay your debt, enjoy your credit hit, that's on you.

Lady wanted to know my birth date to go further but wouldn't tell me what for or what company they are. Asked if they were from school loan place or unemployment not one of those companies. So I think it's a scam from that number.

They called and informed me that they were calling for a personal business matter. They then stated that I needed to provide my DOB before they were able to discuss the call. I asked them what the call was about (trying to verify it wasn't a scam before giving out personal information). They said that they were not able to tell me about the call before I verified who I was. I said that I am not privy to giving out my information over the phone unless I know who I am talking to. They then said that since I am not verifying the information they would have to disconnect the call. I said okay goodbye. This may be a scam or a really, really bad call center rep. They did not provide an agency name or anything. Tred lightly.

They do seem real as they knew my exact debt amount and where it was from. That being said they used the personal matter line which is very misleading.

Had my name and wanted me to confirm with my DOB. I asked who they were, and she just said its a "service company" regarding a "private matter". I pressed her to tell me what the matter is about, and she said she needs to confirm my DOB first. I hung up.

He called my mother before me and started telling me about my debt to the college. I am unsure if real or not. Asked a couple of questions. If you get a call from this phone number contact the establishment that you owe first and ask if they sold or assigned the debt to a debt collector.
