Medicare (Telemarketer) reported by

The Indian guy wanted my Medicare number. I told him I didn’t have Medicare. He did not accept gat answer and insisted that I need to give him my Medicare number. He said it was the same as my social security number. So I made up a. Umber. He also had my made up name that I had just given to them when they had called me the day before, demanding my debit or credit card number to pay $4.95 for them to send my $100 gift reward. These people are the same people that are pretending to be with “Platinum” who call to congratulate you and inform you that you qualify for a $100 gift reward that can be used at Target, Walmart, Best Buy, or Home Depot. I told them My name was Beverly. I made up all the information I gave them, everything they asked for I completely provided for them (all made up). Now they needed Beverly’s social security number because I guess the made up credit card number that I gave them was not working for them, since they also had a made up expiration date, made up 3 digits from the back, made up address, and made up date of birth. I was more than happy to provide them with my made up social security number too. Then they wanted my health insurance information too, so that they could send me my Medicare benefits

Call to verify my personal info, for my Medicare application. (Scam call) reported by

Caller wanted to get my personal info for my Medicare application. No reason to apply for something I’m not eligible for. Ignorant wife is yelling at me to give them info, I informed her it was a scam, since I’m not 65, not yet classified as disabled, they had called for me on Her phone, and that I never applied. Of coutse when I insisted on knowing why they were calling me, and I insisted on a response to the question of Why me for Medicare? They hung up. Wife, again, scolded me. So I again told her not to be so damn gullible, as it was clearly a phishing scam.

Dumbest scammers that have ever called me (Scam call) reported by

So normally scammers are more competent than this. Like seriously. I know you’re a scam before I even pick up the phone. I just like to waste their time. Anyways, I thought I’d share because it’s entertaining. They called me about 5 times in the last week. First time they called I was asleep, but since there was no voicemail left I knew immediately they were scammers. I thought that would be the end of it, but no. Called me again the next day and I answered it because I like to mess with them. Unfortunately I was in public so I could not really dig into them. The conversation basically went as followed: Me: Hello? Scammer: hello I am with (unintelligible) and I’m calling about your Medicaid and Medicare card. (I hung up because I wasn’t in the mood. They immediately called back) Me: Hello? Scammer: hello, I am with (unintelligible) and we are going to send you a new Medicare and Medicaid card. Me: ok but I don’t have Medicaid or Medicare. Scammer: isn’t this (unintelligible) Me: (assuming they said previous owner of my phone’s name.) no Scammer: but I’m sure that you have a Medicaid card Me: no, I’m only 23 so I don’t qualify. Scammer: that’s ok. Do you have a red white and blue card that has Medicare or Medicaid in it? Me: no because I have an HSA account so I don’t need Medicaid or Medicare. (The call pretty much ended here) I thought that would be the end of it but they called me again the next day. I answered it but they immediately hung up so I assume that it was the same woman as before and didn’t want to deal with me. Later that day they called on final time and at that point I had enough. Me: hello? Scammer: hello, I’m calling about your Medicaid and Medicare card. Me: and as I’ve told you yesterday I don’t qualify. Do you think I aged 40 years overnight? (They hung up) They haven’t called since but I hope they call again. I really want to mess with them. I might even call them back.

Indonesian Woman calling asking me for my address and my name and how to spell it asking me to please say yes and also asking if I am on Medicare or Medicaid and I asked who you work for she replies I work for Medicare A and B

Brenda

A lady called me and said that she worked for social security, and so that she could pull up my information I needed to verify my name and city and state and zip code, and that she needed my information on my red white and blue card. she said that there had been some changes to our insurance, so I hesitated on giving her the information, and she said that we are connected to the federal trade commission. so then I thought that it was allright, so I gave her my information. when we were done I looked at the clock and notied that it was after 6pm and I am ni Virginia. I got sick at that point, and I got on the pc and started looking up information, and to find out that it is a scam, I am so worried that they will scam my ss check. at this point I am sick on my stomach and having a bad anxiety attack. there is even a ftc number that starts with 866 and it does not work. I got a letter from humana, saying saying that I need to take care of any changes to my insurance buy a certain date. I guess that it is a company under medicare. My mother is in the hospital sick, and my brother n law brought us bugs, I am stressed out so bad, with my disabillitys and standing on concrete floors in the hospital, every disibilty was hurting with chronic pain, then this which I am sure that it is a scam. they proberly have my ss # buy now. I am so scared. I have closed down my bank account period. why does our goverment let this kind of number exist. if you look on the ps, you will find a 866 number connected to the federal trade commission, but it does not work, I am screwed totally. anyone have any thing that they can tell me to help. they wont get a lone because my credit is real bad. I have a ton of doctor bills and my sister had it turned in 14 times over a truck that I was co owner of, so hopefully that will flop. I will get in touch with ss on monday and see what I can do, and the federal trade comission.

Medicare Scam (Scam call) reported by

The Texas Senior Medicare Patrol (toll free 888-341-61xx) has received several complaints about people calling from 866-414-20xx stating they are from "Medicare" and asking for personal ID info, including date of birth, social security number, medicare number, etc., to "sell supplemental insurance", or to get a new Medicare card. Medicare will NEVER call you. The new Medicare cards are free, and will be mailed to your home; you can check on the status of the new cards at www.medicare.gov. If you get these scam calls, please note the number the person was calling from and report that information to the FTC's Do Not Call Complaint center (https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx) and your state's Senior Medicare Patrol (https://www.smpresource.org/Default.aspx). Do NOT give the caller any information about yourself; do not acknowledge your name or any other information about yourself to the caller - JUST HANG UP.

Scam Medicare Call (Scam call) reported by

The female oriental caller tells you they are calling from Medicare and want to verify your address to send you a red/blue card in the mail. They then ask to verify any other insurance you have numbers and prescription bin number. Then they ask if you have any pain and any skin condition. They tell you will get your card in 5-7 days. I believe they are scamming your insurance for medication or skin cream. They also ask for your primary care doctor's name/address.
