A person calling from a different number called me on Nov 6th stating he was from the Department of Education in the US. He know all my university information. He told me that he requires me to call the university to obtain certain information. The next day on Nov 7th the same person called stating he was from the University. He told me certain key words the other call did as if they both were reading a script. I was informed that I need to provide information to the Department of Education and I would need to do this by a certain time line. I was then offered the service but before he could finish he sales pitch I hung up and blocked the call. It's ashame as I can see how someone can fall for the tactics that were used.

a man named Mark called and said the Almeda university was being shutdown and my degree was now invalid. BUT he was going to get me registered at university of Phoenix, and then have the credits transferred to some place called Gatesville University in Stockton CA. He then told me it was going to cost....$ 5,250.00. I advised him that I was not going to give them any money for any reason , He got really huffy. and told me that I was breaking federal law. and was subject to jail time.and now that I understood the seriousness of the situation was I prepared to pay. also he could arrange financing if I needed it. I advised him I would take my chances and to never call me again. This is about the 5th or 6th call over the course of 5 years wanting money for various "urgent issues".

Scam, claiming from Alameda Univ. and my 72yr old boss is enrolled there, and they know her personally. Called from different numbers, and multiple people within hours of each other. First claimed the first person called them, to call here because of the nature of the call, then didnt realize he changed his storry during the conversation

Tried getting money out of me for transferring college credits. (Scam call) reported by


Scam call from untraceable callers trying to persuade me to pay more money for transferring college credits from Almeda University to an accredited college. I paid once before and I never received my accredited college transcripts and impossible to reach anyone back after you have paid. Scammers are using Almeda University's name for a university which is no longer around to extract money from students who attended or obtained their on-line degrees. I continue to receive such requests and it is becoming harassment. Complaint filed with Idaho State Attorney General's Office.
