The voicemail used an American-sounding voice, stated my name, and said they were calling about a wire transfer. But the callback number it gave was NOT a WF number. It took me to a recorded message offering me a lot of sketchy "opportunities to save money."

Same here! I got a vm saying that I needed to confirm a wire transfer. When I called this number, the automated operator was acting sketchy and immediately transferred me to a live person. When that person got on the phone, her voice kept cutting out so I just hang up. Does WF even know that this happening?! Ugh! :)

Received a call claiming to be Wells Fargo. She said to prove MY identity I had to provide my social security and account number. GURL, I wasn't born yesterday. Confirmed it is a scam and all the people here claiming it is not work for the scam. Come on. Said send me a secure message online - they didn't. WF verified they would NEVER ask for that info when calling. BE WARNED

He claimed to be from Wells Fargo calling about my claim. I asked what claim. He said he cant give me any info without verifying who I am. That raised a red flag as I dont have a claim, He did get my last 4 out of me, then when he asked for my account user name, I again asked what claim. He wouldn't elaborate and said her would send me a letter. I feel stupid he got that much out of me.

Wells Fargo followed up on an inquiry I had made. They asked for username, last four of social, and account number. I called Wells Fargo regular number to confirm the number in question was legit. Just didn't seem quite right asking those type of questions and after looking at negative comments. I did get a secure message about the inquiry as they said they would send me.

They claimed to be with Wells Fargo and was calling regarding a claim. They asked for me by name, then asked for my full Social Security number and then asked for full account number. Told them no to both. They told me OK call or go into branch. Definitely Scam to get my information.

The called said “hello, I am calling from Well Fargo” fraud department and in order to proceed with this call I will need your full account number.” I said “I’m sorry, no offense but I do not know if you are fraud so will not be giving you the information.” She then said “would you like the number to call back”? I said “no, I will use the number on the back of my card”. I called the number on the back of my card and there was no fraud or notes on my account. The caller was a scam.

Caller left voicemail. Caller's name was Lacy from Wells Fargo Bill Pay department wanting to discuss a mutual customer of ours and gave a case number. When you return the call it is a automatic system requesting your Wells Fargo bank account number right off the gate.

Caller was stuttering and seemed very unprepared for to answer my questions. I told them I would call Wells Fargo back myself and ended the call immediately. WATCH OUT!!

They asked for me by name and then asked for account number or debit card number. I said no, I would call the number on the back of the card. He gave me a claim number. I called the claims department from the number on the back of my card. They had no claims for me, and said that the number that was given to me didn't match the number of digits in their system. Seems like a scam, worried that they knew my name to start the call.

They claimed to be with Wells Fargo and was calling regarding a claim. Since I did not have an ongoing claim and they used my maiden name to verify my identity, it just felt off. I called Wells Fargo and they said I did right but not giving them information, they should've already had.

Got a call from this number on land line and cell. Called the number using redial and Wells Fargo answered. Rep told me no calls had been place from WF and it was a scam. They said NEVER give info out over the phone.
