Law Office is all they will say (Debt collector) reported by Annoyed
Received a call from this number but it came through as restricted. Called twice in a row. When I answered it was a woman named Rebecca Cormack from the "Law office of Carolyn Francovich". She said I had a debt now in their possession and would have to pay twice as much in legal fees, the amount and all these other things, making a $800 balance become $5000. She offered me different amounts to start payment but I said I had nothing and could pay something two days later. I gave her my card info and she said it would be processed two days later. Asked for a call back number but she said it would come to me in an email. The call I received after was from my actual debtor and that's when I told them the law office they sent my stuff to just talked to me. The confirmed that no one had my debt but them and even referred me to call my original lender who did confirm who my debtor was. Once off the phone I called my bank and deactivated my card hoping Rebecca would call back and I could trick her into giving me a number. Two days later I received another Restricted call. I didn't answer but "Rebecca" left a voicemail from "The Law Office of LakeView" (Couldn't keep the story straight. SMH) saying they would have to proceed with taking me to court because a payment couldn't be processed. This was the number she left (GOT 'EM!). I then called and a woman just says "Law Office. How can I help you?" and I said "Law office of who?" She said three different offices work in their building and I said "Ok, why would the same woman call me from two different offices?" The woman said "Two offices must be working on your case?" and I was just like "No. that's not how that works." And when the woman asked for my name I declined and hung up on her, blocking the number after. Careful out there.
