Scam involving a charge for "computer services" (Scam call) reported by


They call at least once a week, but once they called 5 times in a single day. They claim I'm going to be charged 399.99 for "computer services", but refuse to specify details and get rude if you ask too many questions. I experimented to see what they would try to do if you go along with it. If you go further into the conversation, they will try and set up access to your computer to "remotely de-activate services".

This number cals every day, sometimes multiple times. They tell me I owe them $399.99 for "services". I ask what the company name is and the person becomes very unintelligible when saying the name. I have asked three times and still cannot understand what they say in answer to that question. So, the first time I talk to them instead of screening the call, they tell me something about "my computer" and "renewal of services". I tell them there are four computers in my house (there are not) and if they could tell me which one it was, I could help them narrow down some choices. They just said "Your computer." I again asked which one, and got hung up on. Next time, I just asked to speak to the person's manager, got hung up on. 3rd time, I ask that since this is a renewal, they can just charge it to my old card. They said they couldn't do that. I said I was authorizing them to do so, the person insisted on another credit card. I told them I didn't have a different card, just use the old information. They got mad at me and hung up. 4th time was this morning (June 24th) and I led them along, telling them this time that since I have multiple computers in the house, if they could tell me which operating system was used, I can help narrow down the choices. He said "the Windows one" and I said none of my computer run Windows. He then said "MAC?" with a questioning tone, and I told him he was wrong again, and he got mad and hung up on me. I have reported them to the FCC and made updates. These people are scum, IMHO.
