Claimed to be Wells Fargo, calling to complete the set-up of my business chkg. Asked all my info to "verify me". Then disconnected. Problem is, I applied online for this account the day before, so they have access to Wells Fargo somehow.

Scam call as student loan forgiveness center (Scam call) reported by


I received two voice mails from this number, which claimed to be "Jenny" from the student loan forgiveness center. In the voice mails, she said that my student loan is flagged for full forgiveness. How do I know that it's a scam? Because I don't have a student loan! If you ever receive a call from this number, don't even pick it up or return a call.

This is the most recent call from this number that I have received. "Jenny" is calling from the student loan forgiveness center claiming that my loans have been flagged for full forgiveness and that they need to verify some information before they can proceed. It feels like a scam so out of caution I never answer or call back.

Claimed to be Wells Fargo trying to “verify me” for a small business application. I did the application on the true Wells Fargo web site, so they have some sort of breach. She sent us emails and called. I didn’t like her tone but my husband assured me it was real. Gave my social and answered security questions tk be told my phone number didn’t match and she couldn’t verify. I hung up and locked my credit and placed fraud alert. Called WF Small Business and they have no record of this phone number or a “Lauren Felder.” Filed complaint and police report.

Why wouldn't they already have SSNs, business name,etc. And why so reluctant to send USPS correspondence for confirmation of the internet application? Feels very much like an Indian call center phishing trip going on there. Ask for SSns and account numbers and passwords when you don't even have an account yet??? Stinks to high heaven!
