The man called and asked if I were a specific person. When asked who was calling he gave me someones first and last name. I said but what company are you with?he said he could only divulge that information too the person he asked for. So I told him well then no and I hung up on him.

Guy called my best friend. She answered hopping it would be a doctor. He said it was a personal matter, and refused to talk to anyone but her. She acted as someone else and asked for the company name. He was very resistant to give it.

Is Wakefield and associates. I am not answering because they are coming after a debt that is 6 yrs old, and not under my name. After 7 years the debt is erased off your record...and this year ends in 2 months so their calling to see if I put any money down. I won't because the second I do the debt calendar restarts and it will be on my record for another 7 years, so don't fall for it.

Claimed to be a Debt Collector (Debt collector) reported by


After a long pause (5 seconds or so) a woman answered and asked to speak to me by name. It went roughly like this: * She asked if she was speaking to [my name]. * I said yes * She said she was calling from "Wakefield and Associates" about a debt. * She asked me to tell her my DOB. * I said "Tell me what this is about or I'm hanging up." * She then _told_ me my DOB and said she needs to verify some information. * I told her again to get to the point or I'm hanging up. * She said she needs to protect personal information and I need to verify it. * I hung up. It's the name of a real debt collection agency, but they list a different number on their website. I think they're scammers trying to impersonate a real debt collection agency.
