Message said my Social Security number had been used in a Criminal Case and I need to contact the number immediately! Of course I know this is a scam, my brother is a retired County Sheriff Deputy. I will report this to the proper authorities!

They told me they have audited my tax records for 2014-2018 and found me guilty of tax evasion. If I don't pay them $4,785 to cover the taxes, penalties and legal fees, I will be arrested within the hour and will have to fight them in court after a 90-day period in jail. I told them I will sit right here and wait for them to show up with the handcuffs, lol! What a scam! Oh yes, forgot to mention that I told them I hadn't received anything in writing and they said the letters were returned to them because I never accepted them. I asked if they had been sent via Certified Mail and I was told yes. When I asked if they had anything with my signature on it, they said the Certified Mail was sent special delivery, not through the USPS. Sure, right. Since they called me at the office where I work, but knew my full name and mailing address, they must have hunted up the information online or something... ?

Called number back and gave case number they left. They answered phone as Social Security and said I owed the IRS money. I asked him why he answered the phone as social security when he is referring payment for the IRS. He wouldn't answer me. I told him to send it to me in writing. He said they don’t do that. I told him to send me the bill. He said I was wasting his time and that I am messing with the IRS. I told him your wasting my time, don’t call me again.

these guys are funny. they left me this elaborate voicemail saying that im gonna be arrested for tax evasion and that if I don’t call them back im going to jail. i don’t even make enough money to file taxes muahahahahah what a bunch of dummies

After a long history of going slightly above the speed limit and accidentally giving the cashier at Giant Eagle a dollar short of my total two years ago...
