Attempting to collect paid debt (Scam call) reported by


The call came in this morning. It was automated. I pressed 1 on the key pad just to have fun. This is the 4th time they have tried to collect on a 12 year old discharged debt. I talked with a female who was kind, but direct. She said that I ignored all letters (including certified ones) to pay this debt. I asked about a date on the letter. She said 12-3-2011. I then asked for any and all documentation of the debt that I owe be emailed so that I may review. She stated that she would not send me anything without first agreeing to set up payment arrangements first. I told her that per the FDCPA, I have a right to review the documents surrounding the original debt and verify it's legitimacy. She did not like that answer and refused without first setting up an agreement. It was at that point that I informed her that I had the debt discharged. I gave her the case number and discharge date. even after all that... She closed the call with "you have a judgement against you and this is was the last attempt to collect prior to moving forward" I wish I could find out the origins of this "company." I would like to send them a cease and desist letter. Company Name: PNR Agent: Unknown Looking to settle an already discharged $1,500 debt for $759.

Stated we are being sued over a vehicle that was repossessed and sold at auction in 2014!! Statute of limitations in Oklahoma is 3 years. I reached an agreement with that lender and paid this off years ago! SCAM!!

They said I owed $16k on some debt from 15 years ago and that they would settle it for $5000 if I paid it.

The statue of limitations for collecting that old of a debt should be long over! Check your state. Most states it's 5 years for written contracts. DO NOT pay even $1. If you do, the then time starts over.

Voicemail picked up what sounds like an IVR griping about legally binding agreements being breached and that it would proceed to court if they didn't receive a callback in 24 hours. Then, it provides an option to "press 1 now" to speak with a CSR and renew this mysterious agreement. I have no debt and have entered no contracts. In fact, this almost feels like a mafia assault via phone. I've received a similar message a year ago from a different number threatening my SS check. Upon research on the inspector general website, such calls are to be regarded as scams.
