Fake power company rep trying to get prepaid cards (Scam call) reported by


"Pepco" called to say I was late and they were going to cut off my service if I didn't pay $825. Since I am not a Pepco customer, I was intrigued. After inquiring more about my overdue bill, scammer hung up on me.

Describe themselves as Pepco disconnection service (Scam call) reported by


Called to warn about power disconnection due to lack or missed payments in the electric bill. The representative said that theey were not the power company but a contractor to disconnect the power. Pepco don't need a contractor for power disconnection. Everything is automatic and they can cut off power from their central station without even show up at the house. They didn't ask for money, only for name and phone # of the account owner. I could call this a nuisance call since there was no money request. NOT STUPID ENOUGH TO GIVE ANY CREDIT CARD OR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION. They will need to come up with better tricks. these are all wore out already.

They Will call to make you believe that you owe PEPCO "A few monthly Bills". Then they will give you an 800 number that is masked to make you believe that in fact you are reaching out to PEPCO. Later a human Spanish speaking person will try to get your personal info, and get you to provide them with a prepaid card. BIG SCAM!!

It is a scam. I don't how they get the real phone number of Pepco. They calling to make the customer pay by the phone using credit cards. They almost convinced me to pay them.
