I received a call tonight from a private number. A lady had a strong accent and told me I was picked to receive $9000 in grant money. I told her I didn't have a bank account so she said to go to Weston Union and to call this number 888-212-6836 and give them NR502. After hanging up I got online to see what that number was. And saw 9000 dollars. WOW what a scam.

Called from a restricted number very heavy accent. Told me I was chosen to receive $9,000 from the federal government for being a good person. And that I needed to call to say 888 number as soon as possible and give them an approval code from Western Union. Same as everybody else. It's a big scam.

they said they wanted to give me a grant of 9000$ from the federal reserve the government for being a good person and they wanted me to go to a walgreens or somewhere with a western union and do as they told me to do to get the money, when i said to them this has to be a scam because the government does not call people to give them money like this, the man who was on the phone was not from here at all, got **** off at me cause i said i know you are a scammer, he started getting mad at me and said well if you don't want free money thats fine. so i said stop scamming people, you piece of **** and i hung up on him.

Yeah, I got the EXACT same call from a Man th as t had a weird accent and was kinda stupid. He didn't have good responses other than his script, and couldn't use common sense. Believe NOONE when it comes to getting FREE MONEY. Really? Who gives free money without filling out 200 forms and then they don't give it to you, they just pay for the schooling etc. I.E. from an actual grant.. People are so excited at the thought of getting free money th as t their mind WANTS to believe it so badly.. but DO NOT!!!!

Got a call saying I qualified for a grant because of me turning in my taxes in time, not being a convicted felon, yada, yada. Told me it was a 9,000 grant, don't have to pay it back. Asked me what I would do with the grant (shouldn't be illegal or something. Ask if I wanted direct deposit or cash (in my head I'm like, 9000, in cash? Why can't they send a check).I just said cash (to see where it would go, not giving personal info out to a random stranger). He then said okay and it was a little hard to understand him (was a male with an accent), but gave me a "Grant ID" consisted of letters and numbers. Then said to call 8012126836 to activate the ID, and then be told where to go to pick up the money. Very adamant about me calling the number right after we hung up. I hung up and remembered the number that actually called me said private, so the fact that I couldn't call them back was weird. I didn't call that number given to me. I went straight online and found this site! Thanks everyone!

They told me that I was chosen one of 1700 people and United States that the government was going to give $9,000 to as a grant for Good conduct and not being a felon. Funny thing is I just got released from federal prison so I'm definitely a felon. They wanted me to go to a store and buy some card for them to put the money on that cost $199. I figured it was a scam that way when I called him back they can ask me for the numbers off of the card so they can transfer the money to it but really they would just be stealing my $199. They're real adamant about me going in purchasing the card I told the lady I had to walk across the street and it would be about 5 minutes before I get to the store and she asked me to stay on the line with her while I walked over there so she can walk me through it

They wanted to give me a grant for 9k because I was randomly selected. Then they wanted me to go to a western union location and spend $250 for a card so I could receive my money. When I questioned them as to why they couldn’t send a paper check they got defensive and said that I need to think about if I want the money because they aren’t trying to steal from me.

I got a call and was offered 9,000 dollars from the government and they asked if I wanted the money to go into my bank account or get it in cash, so I said cash because I’m not going to give someone my bank info, so they told me to call their manager 888-212-6836 so they could tell me where to pick up the money. I haven’t called yet because im not sure this is legit or not. It sounded pretty legit what they were telling me but then again I’m not sure I should trust it

They called me saying they were the government trying to give me a once in a lifetime grant that I never had to pay back. That I earned it for good conduct and no criminal record. They wanted me to go to a convenience store nearby to pay 250$ for a registration so I would be able to receive the following grant. The were insisting. I left it at that and didn’t follow through. I don’t know if it’s true or not but I ain’t about to pay 250$ to anyone I don’t know.
