Called about my application for a Barclay Credit Card. (Financial services) reported by


I applied for a Barclay backed credit card and wasn't approved instantly. I had to send in some extra documentation to their application office. The call was confirming some info and letting me know I had been approved for the card. Definitely legit call in my case, but numbers can be spoofed so if you haven't applied for or don't already have a Barclay Card be wary.

I answered, a man asked if i was in the process of trying to open a credit card. I told him no, and he said my voice didn't sound like the other person trying to open a credit card in my name. He said he will deny the credit application, and suggested for me to contact one of the three credit bureaus to obtain my free credit report, to monitor it for fraudulent activity. That was all, no offer to buy anything, it visit any weird website. I believe it was legitimate.
