Debt Collectors for someone that used me as a reference. (Debt collector) reported by


An old colleague used me as a reference for something that they did not have permission to do. I called back the number left on voicemail and that's how I found out. The lady on the phone was very nice about it and said I was a reference for this person and that I was not apart of the debt collection except as a reference. She said that I would be taken off her file and would not be bothered again. Hopefully she doesn't lie to me about it.

They've called multiple times at work for a co-worker who is in outside sales. I've told them that my extension is not the person they want and they say they remove it but I just got another call. I pressed 1 to speak to a human. He said he'd remove my extension number, gave her cellphone # and asked what company we work for? What? Huh? They just called my company and entered my extension!! I'm pretty sure they are chasing her for money but bugging me every few weeks is not going to recover it. Very annoying!

he called my work phone saying i owed him money, i don't owe anyone anything. He left a number to call back on, but no answer, and no message or voicemail. No clue what this guy is on. But he claimed he's contacted my job in HR, but they have not heard from him. Not sure if its a scam, but definitely isn't legitimate for me.
