Navient Class Action Suit. (Scam call) reported by


Navient law suit settlement 90% forgiven. NOT! There is a settlement against Navient in Michigan on phone abuse (only supposed to call 2 x's a week Michigan laws) dating back to 2013. But I'm not from Michigan. And if there was a National law Suit against Navient, it would have made Headlines. Didn't call back, but kept the info.

i called them back and gave them the code they left me, SL0923 or it was FL0923, gave both codes, they could not find my "account" then asked for my zip code, they couldn't find me, then asked for my full name, i gave first and last name, couldnt find me then just asked if i lived at a certain address out of some state i have never lived, so i stated that i would call back at a later time i had to go. first when i called i sat on hold for 5 mins then the phone hung up then i called again and got a lady who spoke super soft, then she started to talk louder and just sounded drunk. i will be getting a hold of NAVIENT loans to let them know about this scammer call.

This is more than likely a scam. The caller left a voicemail that claims you could be eligible for up to 90% student loan forgiveness because of a class action lawsuit against Navient. Navient is one of the top five largest federal loan servicers. In January of 2017, the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Illinois and Washington attorneys general sued Navient in alleging they, misallocated payments, steered struggling borrowers toward multiple forbearances instead of income-driven repayment plans, and provided unclear information about how to re-enroll in income-driven repayment plans and how to qualify for a co-signer release. This caller is more than likely taking advantage of individuals who have Navient as their student loan servicer. The number one thing for individuals to remember is, no matter what, no legitimate federal company will EVER ask for your entire SS# over the phone.

The voicemail says to call them back - and get help with question I made to them about my debt. Only, I haven't talked to anyone about my student loan debt in over ten years and I just let the governemnt take my return.

I received the same call saying you can receive up to 90% off your student loan. I've never had a student loan so I knew it was a scam & if anyone believes they can get 90% off a loan of any sort especially student loans should never be excepted into school unless it takes you there on a "short bus".I MEAN NOTHING RUDE TOWARDS OR ABOUT ANYONE THAT RIDES ONE BUT IF YOU BELIEVE YOU CAN GET 90% OFF A STUDENT LOAN YOU NEED TO BE WEARING A HELMET & BE Evaluated!

I am a financial aid specialist - a real one - working at a REAL college. I can confirm with 100% certainty that the caller of this number is a scam/con-artist trying to obtain your personal information (name, date of birth AND social security number, etc) to steal your identity and worse. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE AND REPORT THEM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST, IN DETAIL. I've have several students calling me to check the validity of these callers and they are not who they say they are.

I get countless calls from these companies that use fake numbers (mirroring the area my phone is from). They sometimes leave voicemails, but never disclose the name of the company. I called back, and the person on the other line asked “Is this Lauren?” “No, this is <my name>.” “Okay, let me put you on hold.” <hangs up>. If anyone knows the name of this company and/or any action I could take, it would be much appreciated!
