Was called by this number at both my landline and cell. They were verifying a recent credit card application in my name that I didn't make. So, fraud. They were contacting me because I had a fraud alert on my Experian account. Funny, I had seen a credit inquiry from BofA on my credit report recently and didn't think much of it at the time because I had applied for a job with BofA and had given them permission for a background check. That includes a credit check/report. But this was actually someone trying to commit credit fraud. So, long story short, the call seems to be on the level. The fact that one of the agents I spoke to asked for my full birthdate was more than a little annoying. They did not ask for anything else, though. Not the worst piece of PII to give up.
