They are pretending to be an Amazon customer service number. If you contact them for help they will tell you to download QS in your appstore which is a TeamViewer QuickSupport. This will allow them to take over your phone and steal financial information and make bank transfers.

After finding an item delivered to a neighbors home, rather than mine, I called. Odd that the Russian accented call center agent asked for my email and home address. A post call email ostensibly from Amazon contained three typos...Reported to [email protected].

Faked caller ID. Scam call. The number actually belongs to Amazon but they won’t call you, they would email you.

It is a spoof of the Amazon number. Amazon would never call you but you can call them on this number. I’ve gotten the same thing several times saying that I bought a phone and to verify that. I have tried to give this information to Amazon but they don’t seem to have a fraud department

They claimed a purchase was made on my account for an iPhone and needed verification to ensure that it was me that ordered it, and due to not having an amazon account of my own this was already odd. I checked the account being not the account holder that I use and it has no contact information to me other than the cardholder number being used, as well as my bank has no knowledge of this transaction. All the while the conversation went on they kept pressing for more info to verify that it is me and wanted me to download a program on my computer as well. It was at that request and looking into the program that it was clear to be a scam call trying to get access to my information.

I got one of those calls yesterday, had me delete my cards from Amazon.Then proceeded to have me install several apps to send money to them getting me to think they were putting the 1499 back in my account. Plz DON'T fall for this!!!
