THIS IS A CALL BACK # from STATE OF CA FRANCHISE TAX BOARD FTB that came in TODAY 10/19/21, 2+ hours after my request for call back chosen; some heavy accented kinda presumably Foreign African (Nigerian) accent spoke so it was scary at first when SS #, etc. asked regarding when they gonna send the Golden STATE STimulus 2 Payment! That's when I called the # back and it doesn't go thru so I checked here ON-LINE. WHEW!

California Franchise board (FTB) returned my request for a call. (Service) reported by Chuck
I first called there general number several times for help on a tax question. Automated system answered and very busy and to try again later. Happened several times then finally I was asked if I wanted them to call me back. I said yes and they said a call back in1.5-3 hours would happen. It did and I was instructed to fax some info to another number.

I called a number related to the Franchise Tax Board in Sacramento and instead of waiting on hold for possibly 2 hours, I left a note for them to call me back, and this is the number that called me and is legitimate. However, unless you've called first, I would not trust the number as safe if it called me 'out of the blue'.
