This scam group works by terrorizing people. They claim to be "your IRS" and cannot tell me what "IRS" means. But whatever it means, these mobster types say I must pay up (insert a fee and reason here) or I will be facing jail time, immediately! I imagine these accented guys get into their tough-guy game faces on when their robo caller finally finds your number. Forget Do Not Call Lists. They are "my IRS!" So they can call despite my registering on the list. So do not telling them you are on the DNC list...totally a waste of time. Back to the "IRS" intimatadation. The first 5 times this scam was used on me, by 5 different phone numbers, I simply said I was on the DNC list, and hung up. Geesh, go away people! By call 6, I used my theater experience and started talking to my imaginary British husband. I was telling my husband this kind caller was telling me I owed money to the IRS...isn't that an American agency? The caller continued to try to intimidate me but I continued my lengthy conversation with my "husband," asking why did the American government call us, British citizens? After a long time, my caller realized what our "conversation" was about and he mumbled something about why did the robo caller/whatever call the UK, and hung up. So I had some fun. Sure enough, I got another tough guy calling with the same IRS scam later that week. This time, picking up on his Kenyanish accent, I easily imitated it back to him, telling him he sounded like Mohammed, a cousin I had not talked with for a while. The scammer ignored me like a good scammer should and continued his harsh threatening tirade. I continued being polite, telling him he had to know my cousin, because his voice was identical to my relative's. Dud he live near my coudin? You must know him? He has thevwhite goats at the market? This call went on a long time, too. So long I had to change rooms several times because I had my scammer on speaker phone. Everyone in my household was trying to hear the mix
