I answered the call and it took a moment for them to answer back. The woman asked for my son and I told her he was at work. She told me the call was being recorded and I told her mine was as well. I do have a call recording app on my phone and in my state only one party needs to know. She asked if I had another number for my son and I told her, truthfully, that I did not.

collections on old debt-wrong numbers (Debt collector) reported by Would rather not say
Having had numerous of these types of calls I feel fairly certain they have bought bulk old debts and are trying to collect on them. If receiving this call before you pay anything please research your rights. They called identified themselves as Brian Carlisle. Asked for someone by name. We have had calls at our number for the last name before. However, they have not had this number for at least 4 years. They spoke to our service. They would only say personal matter. They did however leave the return number as 877-835-1624. Which leads me to believe they are cloaking their number with local area codes hoping to trick folks into answering. Never a good sign. The fact that they are trying to reach someone from 4+ years ago is also not an encouraging sign. I would again encourage anyone receiving this call to know your rights. Debts that old have a way of turning up again and again after paid to companies that buy these severely old debts.
