This call was at first a female recorded msg that said the same thing as another person's described...when we called back it was an Indian man with a thick accent claiming to be an employee of the irs, dept of treasury...he would not speak to me, only my mother who is almost 70... And even told me I could "go do something with myself"...I said this is a hoax and he got aggressive and told me to go do something with myself, so I hung up on him.

Lady said I was being sued but gave no why, when, and who but I needed a lawyer to call her back. After the message was over there was no way to replay to get details written down. That triggered it was a scam and required checking before anything else was done.

Received a call from 202-552-6651. Caller ID was Washington, DC, and the msg that was left was designed to sound extremely important. For a joke, I called the number back, an India sounding man answered. I said in a very old-sounding, frightened voice, "Oh, my, please explain why you are calling?" The guy caught on right away and told me, "First of all, you need to F off" and then hung up. Definitely a scam.

Same message as Bws got, in robotic women's voice. I blocked my outgoing line and called back; answered by Indian male who was obviously working in a boiler room. He answered, "U.S. Department of [I think] Trade." I said, "No it's not, and how DARE you call and threaten people," then hung up. I called back twice more; first time I got a fast-busy signal and second time an Indian male answered simply "Hello," then hung up when I said I was returning a call and asked who he was. SCAM.
