It was a scam call. wanted personal information, I asked whom I was speaking with and the guy(indian voice) asked me if I had mental problems and that I was wasting his time and hung up on me, twice. Ive heard of this scam before and the government doesnt give away 8700 dollars for being a "good citizen, TOTAL SCAM!!!!

They keep saying I qualify for a grant total scam (Scam call) reported by Tiff
They run this whole script first off then instead of just connecting you to someone she tells me that I need to hurry up and call her manager to get my money. So I decided to just call the number she gave me and sure enough no one picked up first call second call a voice mall picked up and it sounded Like the guy that was sitting right next to the lady that called. These calls are from overseas it's the third time I've gotten them I've told them twice to stop calling and blocked them from previous numbers but this time I decided to take down all the information and now I'm reporting them to the bbb. Or the state this has gotta stop

They said they were the US Treasury and I was chosen to get a grant (Scam call) reported by Weaselbear
And I was to.receive $8,700.00 for being retired,Low income and a good Citizen. I was to call 1 (202) 681-5392 ext.5501 and talk to the Manager to get more info.He said His name was Steve Johnson we talked a bit and was told that I should go to Walmart and pick up part of the grant $3,000.00 then go to Walgreens and get another part of it then I would have to go to another Walmart and get the last part. But when I get to the first Stop Call him and he would give my Registration #: so that I could get the first part of money. He then asked me if I had $200.00 so I could purchase gift cards I should get 4 $50.00 gift cards, Then he told me that after I get them to call him back and give him the numbers off the cards so we can finish the Registration for money. Well I gave him the numbers but not in exactly the right order about 5 minutes he called me back and said there was a problem that the numbers were not correct all of a sudden my phone went dead.wonder!!

Just receive the same phone call so while I was on the phone I started to look up phone number then I saw this.so then I started to read to her every thing I just read about them said I've never heard of the government giving a good citizen check even though I am one.told her why would you do this to people in a farther of five and she should not do this call ended quickly.so thanks for your post.my thoughts if it was true they should putin your mailbox not pay to receive. Thank you

Same thing happened to me on Oct. 19, 2017. Tried to get me to verify my zipcode (which they had wrong though I have been there 30 years.) Also asked if I wanted my money direct deposit and tried to get me to tell them my bank info. They must think I was born yesterday!
