Similar as in previously mentioned incidents. Seems to really be linked to expedia/hotels **** com. The guy knew the last 4 digits of the credit card and claimed to be calling on behalf of the bank. Did not sound convincing and he hung up on me.

Received a phone call by a mumbling and rude man who asked to authenticate my credit card number, claiming he was with Hotels.com Saying he would cancel my reservation if I did not provide the following information he requested. I felt uncomfortable and told him I'd call back later. He hung up and next thing I know my hotel is CANCELED! I called the customer service line from Hotels.com and what do you know it was...somehow he was able to cancel my reservation. Customer service line said my hotel was canceled by the hotel itself, they confirmed they did not. Called back to hotels.com to let them know they did not and customer service said they didn't either. SO BE CAREFUL!!!!

We booked on expedia months ago. The caller said that she needed my bank accounts number after a fake reservation in Turkey (i'm french). She had my four last card number. Hopefully we found it suspicious. Be careful guys!

American man called from cheaptixx wanting to verify a plane ticket purchased with American Airlines. I had already called my bank to report the charge but I should have realized the man was most likely related to my debit card fraud before saying anything.

Me and my family booked a reservation online at hotels.com more than 24 hours ago. This morning I got a phone call from a Washington number from a gentleman who sounded American that stated he needed my credit card information again and billing address because he says that my bank needed them to verify I was the card holder for the reservation I made. My bank will never have anyone verify other than themselves with me if there was any fraudulent or suspicious activity being used on my credit card so this drew a red flag. He did have the last four digits of my card but could not tell me my billing zip code or my address he got really upset when I told him I didn't feel comfortable sharing that information with him because the resort had already sent my itinerary and confirmations and I was all set to go for the booking process. He did say and confirm that I did a booking a few weeks ago at a different Hotel through expedia.com. he claimed to have been working for hotels.com and expedia.com and that for verification purposes he needed my card information again and my billing address. I called my bank and I called hotels.com and they did not have any indication on their end that they made these request for someone to call me on. this is some type of strategic scam I am not sure how they got my information or even knew I booked a resort but they did not have a functionable number to call back. Both hotels.com expedia.com and my bank indicated they had no clue who these people were and why they were calling me for verification. Do not share any credit card information with this company for they are a scam beware!.

AN AMERICAN MAN CALLED ABOUT CONFIRMATION OF ADDRESSS, HE WAS FROM EXPEDIA BUT I BOOKED ON HOTELS.COM SO THAT WAS ALREADY SUS. THEN ASKED IF I BOOKED WITH THEM IN JANUARY TO GO TO NOLA. WHICH I DIDNT AND HANGED UP W/O EXPLANTATION. DEFIANTLY A SCAM.

Number called after I made an already confirmed reservation with expedia. They already knew the last 4 digits of my credit card and my name; they asked for my address. Either they already hacked expedia and were looking for additional info before frauding, or they were looking to pick up more information to social engineer another company and fraud that way. Almost certainly a fraud, if you get this call you should probably call your bank.

Just got a call from this number from an American sounding man saying he was from Expedia and he needed to reconfirm my name on my credit card as I may have entered it incorrectly when i booked my holiday. The payment had already gone through the day before as I checked online banking so i was a bit suspicious. I put the phone down and called the number on Expedias website and was told no one called me from their offices and payment and my booking was already confirmed the day before. This number is verified fraudulent. I then contacted my bank and was told someone tried to take out payments for flights with delta airline without my knowledge and they blocked my card as a precaution. DO NOT GIVE YOUR DETAILS TO THIS FRAUDSTAR. I’m lodging a complaint with Expedia in relation to how my card and personal details were hacked, they had access to all my booking details!!

Received this call after booking on hotels.com missed it as precaution. Said they would call back because there was no direct line to office. Called real hotels.com customer service number and said reservation was fine and reported the number. Other negative reviews for this number as well.
