Comenity Bank. They manage a lot of branded credit cards like Victorias Secret, Big Lots and Crate & Barrel and others so you may not recognize when they call. they call if you're late with a payment.

I called them back and one of the staff asked for my phone number and I gave it to them. Next, they asked for my social security number. I told him where are you calling from? He said he won't tell me unless I give him my social security number and then I hanged up the phone.

As this cell line I use is new, there's definitely nothing from this call that is going to personally involve me. I have yet to update my accounts with this number. In fact for any store related or email subscription, I put my Google voice number. Not my cell.

Has been repeatedly calling my landline so I decided to call the number back *67 and the woman on the other end requested my DOB, last four of my SSN, and another equally significant bit of personal information that could be used in identity theft. I declined and recited the FDCPA and asked when was the last statement outlining the supposed debt owed. She claimed she could not release that information to me although I did verify the number they'd called (my Victoria's Secret card uses Comenity but only my CELL number is linked to that). I contacted VS and had them cancel my card and reissue a new one. In the morning I will contact VS to get through to their live fraud department.
