This person posted on Craigslist advertising an apartment for rent, when contacted wanted me to send money for it before viewing it under the pretence that they had moved and took the keys to the place with them and would mail them. I’ve seen this type of scam before and I hope someone doesn’t fall for it.

Apartment scam- Joseph Peters (Scam call) reported by Jessica Cheyne
Belongs to someone who goes by Joseph Peters. I responded to an ad for an apartment and 'Joseph' told me he has the keys to the apartment in New York and I need to send him bond so that he can send me the keys for me to view the apartment. I did a reverse google search and the photos he sent me of the apartment and it came up for another apartment in a different country.

Such a quick answer when looking for accommodation is quite rare... And the whole story wrote in the mail I received seemed quite... complicated. Did I also mention the offer was too beautiful to be true ? He also mentioned "we're not after money" (quite suspicious, isn't it ?)
