This is a debt collector looking for my wife. They search the net looking for anyone connected to the person they are trying to collect the debt from in this case Payday loans. The reason they are harassing you is because the statute of limitation on the debt is about to be up and they are scrambling trying to get what ever they can get. It probably isn't the original people but some company that bought the debt and are now trying to recuperate the funds they spent buying this debt.

Woman caller left voice mail saying she was collecting info for a case being investigated and in litigation in a county in my state. She indicated a man's name, and said I may be related to or associated with this individual. She also mentioned a court docket number, but hesitated when having to say the state in which the case is being prosecuted. She sounded like she was reading off a script. I called the number back, she answered, asked me if I knew the person she referred to. I told her no, I didn't know the person, and asked her what it was all about. She said "if you don't know the person, then you're all set", and hung up. It was difficult to tell the name of the place she was calling from, she mumbled it, but it sounded like the FNA group. By the looks of it, the phone number she was calling from and asked me to call back, is associated with other scams, as I've found other complaints where people reported being called from the same phone #.

I just got this call as well on my voicemail, mentioned the gentlemans name and said the same thing to me she said to you. I think it is a scam, I don't know for what reason, or what they can get out of it exactly. Maybe they are hoping to get a call back from someone that isn't quite intelligent enough to know better and maybe scam some money from them for legal fees or whatever, and I am sure there are a lot of people that would fall for it. I didn't call back...I decided to surf the web and see if anyone else had experienced this...and waalaa it does seem to be a scam caller. I will be blocking this number and I suggest all do the same.
